Short answer: DuroMax specifies 6–9 inches of water column of natural-gas pressure for the XP13000HXT and 225,000 BTU/hr at full load.
Those are not minor installation details. They determine whether the gas meter, regulator, pipe run, fittings and other household gas appliances can supply the generator correctly.
What the Published Numbers Mean
| Natural-gas specification | XP13000HXT value |
|---|---|
| Required pressure | 6–9 in. water column |
| Full-load fuel demand | 225,000 BTU/hr |
| Natural-gas running output | 8,500W |
| Natural-gas peak output | 11,000W |
| Included hose | 15 ft × 3/4 in. |
Why Pipe Size Cannot Be Chosen From BTU Alone
Gas-pipe sizing depends on fuel demand, pipe material, length, pressure, fittings, and what else the supply is feeding. A 225,000-BTU generator added to a furnace, water heater, range and dryer can materially change the required capacity.
This is one of those cases where the manufacturer’s numbers tell you what the generator needs, but the house-side answer belongs to the applicable gas code and a qualified installer.
Natural Gas Gives You Less Electrical Output
DuroMax publishes 8,500 running watts and 11,000 peak watts on natural gas, compared with 10,500 running and 13,000 peak watts on gasoline. That difference should be included in your load plan.
