Looking at a specific product? Start here.
These guides pull together the specs that actually matter, explain them in plain English, and answer the smaller questions people usually have before buying. We use manufacturer pages, manuals, technical documents, and straightforward math when it helps.
We do not pretend we personally tested a product when we did not. The goal is simpler: take the scattered facts and turn them into useful answers.

What You’ll Find in a Product Guide
- The important specs: size, weight, power, capacity, outlets, connectors, filters, accessories, and other numbers that affect the buying decision.
- What those numbers mean: not just “7,200 watts,” but what that may let you run and what limits still apply.
- Useful math: things like estimated runtime, charging time, fuel use, or current when the math answers a real question.
- Things that may not fit or work: compatibility limits, size limits, voltage limits, and other easy-to-miss details.
- Specific buyer questions: the smaller questions that often decide whether a product is actually right for you.
When One Question Needs Its Own Page
Most questions stay on the main product guide. We give a question its own page only when the answer needs more explanation, more source material, a useful calculation, or a comparison that would make the main guide too crowded.
Those smaller pages link back to the main product guide, and the main guide links out to them. That way you can start broad and dig deeper only where you need to.
How We Handle the Math
If we calculate something ourselves, we say so. For example, battery watt-hours can give a useful first-pass runtime estimate, but real runtime is lower because of losses and changing loads. We show the simple math without pretending it is a guarantee.
What We Do When Specs Disagree
Manufacturers sometimes publish different numbers on a product page, manual, or older document. When that happens, we point out the disagreement instead of quietly choosing whichever number looks better.
Why We Build These
Most product pages give you a pile of specs. Most reviews give you an overall opinion. We are trying to fill the space in between: What does this number mean for what I actually want to do?
