AlorAir HD55 vs HD55S Wi-Fi vs HDi65S: Pump, Wi-Fi, Capacity and Size
The AlorAir Sentinel HD55, HD55S Wi-Fi, and HDi65S occupy almost the same part of the crawl-space dehumidifier lineup. Their cabinet dimensions are essentially the same, and their AHAM capacities are only a couple of pints apart. The more useful buying differences are drainage and remote connectivity.

Quick Comparison
| Model | AHAM capacity | Rated area | Airflow | Drainage | Wi-Fi/app | Dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sentinel HD55 | 53 PPD | Up to 1,200 sq. ft. | 120 CFM | Gravity | No on the standard HD55 listing | 19.2 × 12.2 × 13.3 in |
| Sentinel HD55S Wi-Fi | 55 PPD | Up to 1,300 sq. ft. | 130 CFM | Gravity | Yes | 19.2 × 12.2 × 13.3 in |
| Sentinel HDi65S | 55 PPD | Up to 1,300 sq. ft. | 130 CFM | Pump + gravity | No on the conventional HDi65S listing; a separate Wi-Fi version exists | 19.2 × 12.2 × 13.3 in |
The Biggest Difference: Where the Water Has to Go
If you have a reliable downhill path to a floor drain or other approved drain point, the HD55 and HD55S Wi-Fi can use gravity drainage without paying for a built-in pump.
If the condensate has to move uphill, the conventional HDi65S is the more relevant model because it supports both gravity drainage and a built-in condensate pump. AlorAir rates that pump for up to 19.6 feet of lift.
That difference is usually more important than the small gap between 53 and 55 AHAM pints per day.
HD55 vs HD55S Wi-Fi
The standard HD55 is rated at 53 PPD AHAM, 120 CFM, and up to 1,200 square feet. The HD55S Wi-Fi increases those published figures slightly to 55 PPD, 130 CFM, and up to 1,300 square feet while keeping the same listed cabinet dimensions.
The more obvious practical difference is the Wi-Fi app control on the HD55S Wi-Fi. AlorAir says that model can be monitored and adjusted through its proprietary app. AlorAir also says it does not provide an API for third-party scripts or custom automation.
HD55S Wi-Fi vs HDi65S
These two are much closer on paper: 55 PPD AHAM, 1,300-square-foot coverage, 130 CFM, and the same 19.2 × 12.2 × 13.3-inch listed dimensions.
The decision is therefore mostly about features:
- HD55S Wi-Fi: app monitoring/control, gravity drainage.
- HDi65S conventional: built-in pump plus gravity drainage, but no Wi-Fi on this specific conventional listing.
AlorAir also sells a separate HDi65S Wi-Fi variant, so check the exact product name rather than assuming every HDi65S listing includes app control.
What About the Standard HD55?
The HD55 still makes sense when you do not need a pump and do not care about app control. Its published capacity and airflow are slightly lower, but its footprint is the same as the other two models in this comparison.
There is also a separate HD55 Blue Wi-Fi model in AlorAir’s current catalog. Again, the suffix and exact listing matter.
Bottom Line
Choose among these three by installation need before chasing tiny capacity differences:
- If gravity drainage is easy and you want the simplest version, look at the standard HD55.
- If gravity drainage works but app control matters, the HD55S Wi-Fi is the relevant version.
- If water must be pumped uphill, the HDi65S is the key step up; choose the separate Wi-Fi HDi65S version if you need both features.
